Floor mounted jib cranes, wall mounted jib cranes, aluminum jib cranes…
EMH offers each of these types of jib cranes, but how do you select the right jib crane?
Ideal for smaller transfer jobs, jib cranes are extremely flexible crane solutions. Wall mount jib cranes lift and transport materials in 200 degree semi-circles while floor mounted can rotate 360°, but are ideal for low headroom applications.
Jib cranes can also be used as part of your assembly line/operations as jib cranes easily transfer materials to adjacent workstations.
- Jib cranes are flexible and can reach around obstacles.
- Jib cranes are space efficient and can even be folded away.
- Jib cranes can even be mounted on sturdy columns.
- Jib cranes can be watherized for outdoor use.
- Jib cranes can move up to 30,000 pounds.
- Wall jib cranes from EMH can actually move along a wall instead of just being mounted in a single place.
So how do you choose between wall-mounted jib cranes and floor mounted jib cranes?
- Rotation required: If 200-degress is sufficient, you can go with a wall mounted (or column mounted) jib crane – if you need up to 360-degrees you will need a floor-mounted jib crane.
- Space you have: Measure the distance from floor to underside of jib crane’s boom, working space you need for the jib crane, how tall the and jib crane needs to be to clear your workspace and obstructions.
- Overall jib crane height: Factor in any attachments, such as electrical entry, so the crane will be free from overhead obstructions.
- Actual working span needed: The working (or hook) distance is roughly the length of the boom, less ½ trolley length at each end.
- Power requirements: Each jib crane will have its own unique requirements – EMH will help ensure you met the jib crane’s specific needs.
